GFWC-SPWC Local Leadership
PRESIDENT~Diane Cychosz
Diane has been a club woman for a relatively short period of time; joining the GFWC Stevens Point Woman�s Club in 1998. Since becoming a member, she has been the 2000-2002 Club Treasurer and served on the Audit Committee from 2002-2004. Other positions she has held at the club level are Arts Chairman, second vice-president, and first vice-president and will take the helm as President of the Stevens Point Woman�s Club for the 2006-2008 administration. At the District level, Diane has been the Arts Chairman since 2000-2002 administration and will be the 2006-2008 District Treasurer. Diane also served the State as the 2004-2006 Helping Hands Chairman, and is the 2006-2008 State Treasurer. In June 2005, Diane had the privilege of being the Wisconsin LEADS representative at the International Convention in Las Vegas. Diane enjoys doing all types of needlework and has been a charter member of the Star Point Quilt Guild since 1992 serving as the club�s charter Treasurer. In addition, she has held all offices and various chairmanships for the Guild and repeated her role as Treasurer during the 2003-2005 administration. Diane has lived most of her life in the Stevens Point area and she is currently employed at Midwest Hardware Association as an accounting assistant in the Retail Financial Services Department.
FIRST VICE PRESIDENT~Tari Wallner
Tari has been a member of the GFWC Stevens Woman�s Club since 1998. She is currently serving as first vice-president. Tari has been active in many club activities such as, Art in the Park, Place of Peace dinner, annual Brat Fry, and Harvest Fest. Other GFWC club activities included being a past president for the Stevens Point Junior Woman's Club. Tari has been involved in the early childhood area for over twenty years. She has taught pre-school, served as director for Kiddie Kollege, the GFWC Stevens Point Junior Woman's Club pre-school, and presently operates a licensed Family Daycare Facility. Tari is a board member for the Portage County Child Care Association, sits on the Steering Committee for the Woodland Girl Scout Council along with being a troop leader, is a part of Leading the Way Early Childhood conference committee, and Point 4 the Future �Four year old kindergarten study committee. She is also an active member at St. Joseph�s Parish. Tari has been married to her husband William for 31 years. They have three grown daughters. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, biking, gardening, long walks, and travel.
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT~Betsy Kuzynski
Betsy has been a member of the GFWC-Stevens Point since 1985. She has held positions at State, District, and local levels. Betsy is a life long resident of Stevens Point. She has been married 27 years. Together, she and her husband have 3 daughters and 1 grandson.
CORRESPONDENCE SECRETARY~Eileen Hessel
Eileen has been a member of the Stevens Point Women's Club since 2003. She has participated in a number of fundraisers and activities, including Highway 10 cleanup. Eileen is the office manager of the Midwest Hardware Association, where she has worked for 32 years in various positions. MHA is a trade association serving hardware dealers primarily in IL and WI and performing financial services for dealers across the US. Her husband, Steve, is president of Midwest Professional Planners, Ltd., a fee-based comprehensive financial advisory firm located in Wausau, WI. They have two grown daughters, Kimberli and Lisa. Eileen enjoys "golfing," reading, traveling, and volunteering throughout her community.
RECORDING SECRETARY~Cheri Karch
Cheri has been a Woman�s Club member since 1994. Past positions held include president from 2002-2004, first vice president, newsletter editor, conservation co-chair, Community Improvement Project chair, and leadership chair. She has also produced the club�s calendar booklet since 1995. Cheri has also served as 7th District Recording Secretary and chairman of the GFWC-WI Poetry & Short Story Contest. Cheri is the Corporate Relations Director at Worzalla Publishing Company. She has served on several community boards and is active in many organizations. She and her husband, Rob, have two married sons (Casey & Eric), a grandson (Trenton), and a new addition to the family -- a dachshund puppy named Vinnie! Her interests include family, reading, travel, gardening, motorcycling, hunting, fishing, and enjoying and preserving nature and wildlife.
TREASURER~Sally Olson
Sally is a relative newcomer to GFWC-Stevens Point, having joined during the 2002-2003 club year. She served as recording secretary 2004-2006, prior to accepting the position of treasurer for the 2006-2008 administration. She feels she still has the training wheels on, with so much to learn about the many avenues and aspects of the club. Sally has been a social worker for over thirty years. Her career began in a pediatric hospital setting and now, for the past ten years, in domestic violence. She is employed at CAP Services� Family Crisis Center as a victim advocate. Sally�s goal is to assist victims with their planning for a safer future. In addition, she is the field supervisor for graduate and under-graduate social work interns placed at the Family Crisis Center. Sally�s interests include singing with the Monteverdi Master Chorale, being part of a monthly book group, growing and cooking with herbs, doing needlework, wine-tasting, and traveling whenever and wherever possible with her husband.
